Cancellation Policy

1. How to Cancel Your Booking

To cancel a reservation made through Budget Rental, you must contact us directly — do not contact the rental supplier. Cancellations must be submitted through one of the following channels:

• By Phone (recommended): Call 1-866-495-1676 (Toll-Free, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week). Have your booking reference number ready. Cancellations by phone are confirmed immediately.
• By Email: Send your cancellation request to support@budgetrental.org with your name, booking reference, and reason. Email cancellations are processed within 2–4 hours. Note: the time of cancellation is recorded as when Budget Rental confirms the request, not when the email was sent.

2. Free Cancellation — Refundable Rates

Bookings made on a refundable rate qualify for free cancellation when the cancellation request is received within the window specified in your confirmation email. Standard cancellation windows are:

3. Non-Refundable Rate Cancellations

Bookings made on a non-refundable (discounted) rate cannot be cancelled for any refund on the base rental amount under any circumstances. These rates are sold at a significant discount in exchange for this restriction. Non-refundable rates are clearly labelled before checkout.

Budget Rental may, at its sole discretion, offer a credit voucher or rebooking assistance in cases of documented serious illness, bereavement, or natural disaster. Such exceptions are not guaranteed and are handled on a case-by-case basis. Call 1-866-495-1676 to discuss your situation.

4. Modifying Your Booking

To change your pickup/return dates, location, or vehicle class, contact Budget Rental as early as possible. Modifications are subject to availability and may result in a rate adjustment:

• If the new rate is higher, you will be charged the difference.
• If the new rate is lower, a partial refund may be issued depending on the original rate type.
• The administrative service fee is not adjusted on modifications.
• Modifications to non-refundable bookings may not be possible and are at the supplier's discretion.

5. Administrative Service Fee

The Budget Rental administrative service fee is non-refundable on all cancellations and modifications, regardless of how far in advance the request is made or the rate type. This fee covers the cost of booking processing, agent assistance, and 24/7 support availability.

6. Supplier-Initiated Cancellations

If a rental supplier cancels your reservation due to vehicle unavailability, fleet issues, or other reasons beyond Budget Rental's control, we will provide you with:

• A full refund of the base rental amount within 7–10 business days; or
• A comparable alternative vehicle at no additional cost, subject to availability.

In these cases, the administrative service fee may be waived or credited at Budget Rental's discretion.

7. Refund Processing Times

Once a cancellation is approved and a refund is confirmed, funds are returned to the original payment method. Typical processing times:

• Credit / Debit Cards: 7–10 business days
• Bank Transfers: 5–7 business days
• Digital Wallets: 3–5 business days

Actual timing may vary depending on your financial institution. Budget Rental is not responsible for delays caused by banks or card issuers.
